Our client is seeking to hire a Carpenter who will be responsible for crafting, repairing and finishing furniture by upholstering, varnishing and performing joinery work to meet the company’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upholster furniture items, ensuring a high standard of finish.
- Apply varnish, stains, and other finishes to furniture surfaces.
- Perform joinery tasks such as assembly and repairs of wooden furniture.
- Follow design and safety specifications while working.
- Inspect furniture items for quality and correct any defects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in upholstery, varnishing, or joinery
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Certificate or diploma in carpentry, upholstery, or furniture making (preferred but not mandatory)
- Hands-on technical skills with traditional tools (hammers, saws, staplers, spray guns, etc.)
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and furniture
- Willingness to learn new techniques and improve skills through on-the-job training
