Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes. But the one that’s cost us the most? Not taking a step back to build systems that empower my team to deliver with consistency and excellence. For too long, the business depended too heavily on me, leading to a small team, limited growth and inevitably, burnout.
But that’s changing.
Ten years ago, I read The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber and thought, “This makes sense.” But I filed it away, as we so often do with good advice. This year, I picked it up again and this time, it met me right where I am: deep in the process of documenting how we work and building the systems to scale.
One of our core goals in 2025 is delivering consistent, high-quality service every single time. We kicked off our SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) journey in February. We thought it would be a quick project, instead, it’s become a transformational one. With the expert guidance of Rosslyn Mutahi from Toptier and our collaboration with Dorcas Njuguna at iHR Solutions, we’re creating a strong operational foundation.
This isn’t just about service delivery. It’s also about freeing myself from the daily grind to focus on the bigger picture; strategy, growth, innovation. After two months of climbing out of burnout, I’m finally in a place of clarity, creativity and renewed energy.
Here’s to the second half of 2025, stronger, smarter and ready for big things.
